Kyogen"FUJIMATSU"(The Fuji Pine)

★story★
Taro Kaja took a few days off work without his Master's permission and made a trip to Mount Fuji. His Master heard that he had come back the previous night and brought a fine Fuji pine tree with him. He goes to Tarõ Kaja's house determined to get the tree from him. Taro Kaja pretends that the tree belongs to someone else. The Master offers to trade his hawk or his horse, but Taro Kaja says that the owner of the tree has no use for such things.
The Master orders Tarõ Kaja to accompany him to the shrine. On the way the Master orders Taro Kaja to compose poems with him and if he fails, he must give the Master the pine tree. Taro Kaja is so good at these poems (renga) that the Master tires of them by the time they reach the shrine and reluctantly allows Taro Kaja to keep his pine tree.

Noh"YASHIMA"
main performer: Yoshimaru Sekine

★story★
A priest comes to the bay of Yashima and begs a night's lodging in the house of two fishermen.When he asks about the great battle between the Taira and Minamoto which took place there, the older man describes the scene for him in such detail that, wonderingly, the priest asks his name. Revealing indirectly that he is the ghost of Yoshitsune, the old man disappears. In the priest's dream that night, Yoshitsune appears in his true form and tells how he rode his horse into the sea among the boats of the enemy to retrieve his bow which, floating away on the tide, was in danger of falling into the hands of the Taira. Kyogen"NIKUJUHACHI"(2918)

★story★
A Man goes to the Kiyomizu Temple to pray for a Wife. He is told in a dream that he will find her on the steps at the Western Gate. He finds her, and asks where she lives. She speaks in poetic riddles, and tells him that she lives in Muromachi Kasugamachi. He asks which house and she answers, "Two nine." He figures two nines make eighteen, goes to the eighteenth house and finds her there. He takes her hand and leads her happily to his house. He asks her to take off her veil, she refuses, he insists, and finally takes it off himself. He is surprised and disappointed when he looks at her face, because she is very ugly. He runs off trying to get away, and she chases after him.

Noh"TATSUTA"
main performer: Takanobu Sakaguchi

★story★
A travelling priest is about to cross a river to visit the nearby Tatsuta Shrine when a priestess approaches and leads him to the shrine by another road, pointing out to him a sacred maple tree on the way. She then reveals that she is the goddess Tatsuta-hime and vanishes. Later that night the goddess reappears, and after telling of the beauties of the place, dances until dawn comes.
